Conquering the Open Waters: A Journey of Mindset, Discipline, and Motivation

The initial plunge into the open water is often the hardest, especially in the first 30 minutes to an hour. It is during this period that many swimmers question their capabilities. The cold water, the jaw shivers, and the overwhelming sense of the unknown can be intimidating.
The Power of Positive Visualisation
To combat these challenges, seasoned swimmers have developed mental strategies to stay motivated and focused. One effective technique is the creation of a “positive bubble.” Before entering the water, the swimmer envisions a bubble filled with all the positive elements of their life—family, memorable experiences, and future aspirations.
